Reflexology was a commonplace and well-respected therapy in ancient Egypt, India and China.

It works on the basis that the feet contain reflex points which correspond with the organs and limbs of the body.  By stimulating these reflexes, the body’s own natural healing systems are encouraged and both physical and emotional balance can be maintained.

Reflexology is a safe and gentle therapy which is endorsed by the NHS and the many health care professionals who recommend it.

After 12 weeks of pregnancy, weekly sessions of Reflexology are known to:

  • Provide a deep sense of relaxation and wellness.
  • Improve elimination and lymphatic drainage, reducing swelling in hands, feet and ankles.
  • Balance and normalise blood pressure.
  • Ease heartburn.
  • Improve the quality of sleep.
  • Ease headaches.
  • Relieve varicose veins.
  • Improve the blood flow within your whole body, your uterus and the baby’s placenta.
  • Help you to carry your baby to term.

It can also help to ready your body for labour if you are overdue, thereby reducing the need for medical induction.

Once labour has begun, Reflexology can be used to intensify contractions, shortening labour as a result.

The health and emotional well-being of a Mother is so very important during this sensitive period, so taking the time to care for yourself in pregnancy is a way of taking care of your baby, even before they arrive.

For singular reflexology sessions lasting around one hour (including consultation time) the cost is 170 AED (per session)

For regular weekly reflexology sessions lasting around one hour (including consultation time) the cost is 140 AED (per session, when booked in advance)

For existing Doula or HypnoBirthing clients, each individual reflexology session is discounted to 110 AED.

For a one off ‘Birth Preparation’ session to encourage favourable conditions for labour to commence, which includes an overview of the physiology of birth, breathing, and relaxation techniques lasting 2 hours, the cost is 280 AED.

Please contact me to book some time for relaxation, I am sure you’ll be glad that you did!
